Types of Transportation in Pharmaceutical Industry in Canada
In an emergency, medical transportation services can be employed to transport patients from one hospital to another, potentially saving lives.
These services are available to all patients, and can be accessed 24/7, 7 days a semaine, 365 days per year. The type of transportation required will depend on the severity of the situation, the distance traveled, and the patient’s medical condition.
Benefits of Medical Transportation
Patients can be transported to their destination by medical transportation services. Highly trained drivers, paramedics, and emergency medical technicians (EMTs), provide any medical assistance that is required to ensure safe arrival.
Why use medical transportation?
Non-emergency pharmaceutical logistics can be arranged in advance to transport patients to and from their appointments. Healthcare providers prefer these professional services because they are dependable and impartial.
Below is a complete list of medical transport services, with descriptions and examples.
Types of medical transportation
A) Transport for non-emergency medical reasons:
Non-emergency medical transport is a service that transports people who have a condition or injury that isn’t life threatening. Doctors transport patients with medical conditions that prevent them from traveling. Law firms use these services to transport injured clients to interviews, court appearances, depositions, and court appearances.
1) AMBULATORY TRANSPORTATION
Ambulatory transport is the most popular form of non-emergency, medical transportation. This is for patients who don’t need any equipment and can walk or require basic assistance.
2) STRETCHER
Stretcher medical transport is also available for patients with back problems or who are unable to sit straight. This service is available for patients who are unable to sit straight or have back problems.
3) WHEELCHAIR
The wheelchair transport service provides assistance to people who are in a wheelchair or cannot walk. A CPR-trained driver operates the wheelchair lifts and vans. The hospital gives special consideration to patients with disabilities and rents wheelchairs to them. This service does not require immediate medical attention.
We arrange flight escort services for commercial airlines. A nurse on board will be with the patient throughout the flight to ensure their health. The nurse organises ground transportation when you arrive (taxis, family members, and medical transportation). To get the patient to their final destination.
5) COURIER SERVICE
A medical courier service transports blood, organs, and other biological materials to and from hospitals and research facilities. All of our contracted drivers have undergone careful screening, including adhering to strict privacy and confidentiality conditions, including HIPAA.
B) Transport for emergency medical care
1) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT AMBULANCE (BLS)
Patients who require medical assistance during transit can use a Basic Life Support ambulance. EMTs provide medical assistance onboard, including EpiPens, heart monitoring, bandages, oxygen tanks, and other supplies.
Before the patient’s discharge date, a transportation representative will coordinate BLS transportation to transport them to their home, other medical facilities, rehabilitation clinics, assisted living communities, or psychiatric hospitals.
2) ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT AMBULANCE (ALS).
Highly trained paramedics also supervise Advanced Life and Support ambulances. Paramedics are on board to give shots and medications, monitor vital signs, stabilise the patient, and transport them to an emergency hospital or trauma centre.
3) Transportation Interpreters
To accommodate patients who have limited English proficiency, or are Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing, transportation is provided with interpreters in American Sign Language and foreign language. If a qualified medical interpreter is available, it can make the difference between life or death. Because of lack of medical vocabulary training, we strongly recommend against having a friend or family member accompany you on your ride. Patients are also at risk from not being aware of confidentiality policies or being impartial.
Legal interpretation is the same. Lawyers with proper training are familiar with legal jargon, ensuring that the patient is conversant with all legal terms. Medical transport is provided to take the patient to court in cases of personal injury. The legal interpreter provides interpretation on-the-spot while the patient is in court.
Interpreters Unlimited created a niche within the Health and Human Services industry to simplify transportation for clients in legal, healthcare, workers’ compensation and insurance.
Because of our specialized training and advanced knowledge, we can contract qualified interpreters rather than non-qualified.
