Tips For New‌ ‌Game Streamers

From children to grown-ups everyone loves video games. Whether it’s now or in the past, it’s one of the most favored sources of entertainment out there.

There was a time when parents labeled it as a waste of time as well as a waste of money. Simply cause it was only a source of entertainment nothing more. It wouldn’t bring food to the table. But things are different now.

Times have changed, and so have the video gaming industry. With the evolution of the digital industry now video gaming isn’t just for entertainment anymore. It has gained the ability to become a career. Now there are tournaments of various games where people are able to play against one another representing their team and sponsors and win cash prizes and gain fame in real life. But those opportunities are for those who are able to get into a well-renowned team or are sponsored by a brand. But how would people get noticed and what about those who can’t get into a team or sponsorship how could they earn from it?

Well, the answer is streaming. Yeah streaming your gameplay is very popular and can get you a lot of viewers and followers. And you would be surprised to know lots of teams and companies choose from watch these gameplays.

But is it that easy? Definitely not. First of all your streams have to reach a certain amount and views and subscribers for it to even reach those teams. And believe me, it’s not easy at all. For your gameplay to be noticed among trillions of players well you can imagine how hard that can be.

But you have to start somewhere right? So the first thing you need to choose is the platform that you want to host your streams. There are various platforms out there from which you can choose. Like Twitch or Youtube Gaming or Facebook Gaming or Streaming Plug and many more. Among them, Twitch is more renowned than most other platforms in this field. Now there might be other types of streams you may find there besides gameplay. But those were allowed recently. And if you still serf on it you would find that majority of its contents are still related to gaming.

After learning all this you are interested in streaming on twitch and showoff your skills. But let me warn you it won’t be easy. Being noticed among millions of players especially for a new streamer can be challenging. Some even gave up on it when they were able to get a single sponsorship or many followers even after years of streaming. So think carefully before you start anything. Cause yeah streaming can be a great way to earn from home online but like other methods where you can earn online, it takes time and patience. If you are still adamant about it then let me give you some tips that you need to know to make the most out of your streams.

  • Check you equipment

Well since you are a new streamer it’s best not to use a complex setup that you won’t be able to operate correctly. It’s best to choose a simple setup at first that you can manage easily and also able to cope with unwanted variables that you might face during your streams. Upgrade to a more complex setup only when you are more confident and have more experience under your belt.

  • Use social media platform

You are new and no one knows about you so you have to let people know about your channel. And what better place to market yourself than on social media. You might think that this is a gaming platform how can social media help here? It’s not a live music streaming platform where every music lover would come or an entertainment platform for drama lovers or movie lovers. It’s gaming and I am you heard some say that “You can’t grow on Twitch using social media!”. And I can’t tell you how wrong that is.

If you loot it up all famous streamers do daily posts on their social account about their gameplays and account. And there are billions of people are on social media so it doesn’t require one to be einstein that what a golden opportunity this is for a new account to get new viewers and followers.

  • Choose the right game

This is a very important point. Since your channel’s goal depends on it. It has been seen in many cases that various new players would choose games that they aren’t good at. But they would choose to play it anyway as it’s more popular and gets more views. They don’t understand that people are here to watch your good gameplays, not the game. So it’s best to choose a game that’s both popular and you are good at.

  • Don’t limit to a single streaming platform

You already know about other streaming platforms besides twitch. Like youtube gaming. Though it’s not as popular for gaming as twitch still it’s one of the most popular streaming platforms out there. And if you look it up you would see many famous twitch gamers have a youtube channel on youtube in which you would find highlights and trailers of their gameplays. As it acts as one of the most effective tools to push viewers to your channel at a faster pace. Although social media might be able to push viewers to your account at a steady pace it doesn’t come close to youtube.

  • Have a schedule

Make sure to set up a schedule of streams to let viewers know when you would be streaming. To keep a content viewer base it’s one of the most necessities that there is. If you upload streams at an unorganized pace then you would lose more viewers than you gain. Also when you make a schedule make sure to stick to don’t keep changing it for no reason. Cause commitment is one of the key aspects to success in this field.
