PLACES TO VISIT IN BANGALORE

LAL BAGH BOTANICAL GARDEN
Lalbagh is located in the south of Bangalore. Lal bagh is India’s largest botanical garden. It was built by Hyder Ali and the work was completed by his son Tipu Sultan. Tipu imported a large number of flower species from different countries like France, Arabia, Afghanistan etc. Tipu also imported trees, you could also spot birds like mynah, parakeets, common egret and much more. Another important attraction of the park is the lal bagh rock. The rock is 3000 years old. It can be found in the center of the garden. Flower shows will be conducted twice a year. One is during the republic day week and the other one is during Independence day. Every year they take up different themes and make semi-permanent structures
BANGALORE PALACE
Bangalore palace is a place that you should not miss on your trip to Bangalore. The magnificent palace was built in the year of 1878. The palace shows the majesty of the rulers. It is a huge palace with bright and luxurious interiors, lot of gardens surrounding it. Everyday a huge number of people visit the palace. It possesses famous paintings of the 19th century. Architecture of this building is inspired by architectural marvels of England and Normandy. It is a mixture of Scottish and Tudor style.
WONDERLA, BANGALORE
Wonder la is a waterpark in Bangalore. It is best for adventure lovers, mostly youngsters. But there are also relaxing booths too which are suitable for people of all ages. It has got a lot of fun and adventurous activities for us to do. The wave pool gives you a feel like you are standing in the middle of an ocean, with its smooth waves. And its most recently constructed ride is ‘Reverse looping roller coaster’ which can be ridden in both directions. And the rain disco is a major attraction at the place.
VIDHANA SOUDHA
Vidhana soudha is the state legislature along with the secretariat of Karnataka. This is the largest legislature building in the country. It is also one of the important tourist attractions in the city.The foundation stone was laid by former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru. Vidhana soudha is called the Taj mahal of south India. It is built in Neo-dravidian style of architecture. It has around 300 rooms and accommodates 22 different departments of Karnataka government.
NANDI HILLS
In the busy and modernized city Nandi hills would be a treat to spend quality time. It is located 60km away from the city and is a perfect weekend spot. The place was first used by Tipu Sultan. His summer residence is still found in Nandi hills. You can find some old temples over there. You could engage yourselves in activities like cycling, trekking, paragliding and camping too.

BHEEMESHWARI
It is located in Mandya district. It is situated around 100km away from the city. Many people visit the place for activities like fishing etc. It is along the banks of shivanasamudra falls and the mekedatu falls. It attracts people with its mesmerizing beauty. River Arkavathi in Bheemeshwari will allow you to engage in water activities like rafting, coracle rides, boating etc. You could visit the place during winter for the best experience.
DODDA ALADA MARA
The splaying branches of banyan tree has extended upto 3 acres and is actually a must visit spot. The banyan tree is 400 year old. It is the second largest tree in the country. It is now home for animals like monkeys etc. Now there are seating arrangements for us to sit and enjoy the beauty. Banyan tree being holy, there are many devotees who come to visit dodda alada mara. There is a temple at the center for devotees to pray. And there are many haunted stories about it too.
BIG BULL TEMPLE
It is called “dodda basavana gudi” by localities. This temple was built to please a wild bull which destroyed the crops cultivated in this region. This is dedicated to Nandi, vahana of shiva. This temple is constructed in dravidian style. This temple was built during the reign of Kempe Gowda. The nandi statue is 6.5m long and 4.5m high. The whole nandi statue is carved out of a single granite rock. They celebrate festivals like ugadi and kadalekai parishe.
