Dos & Don’ts of Wedding Photo Booths

Wedding photo booths are an important constituent for a perfect event these days. People invest a lot of time and money in arranging an amazing wedding photo booth.

But, often, wedding photo booths do not go according to the plan due to some factors. It would be best to consider a few things to make your wedding photo booth a memorable experience.

For a perfect photo booth, wedding photobooth props are undoubtedly an essential thing to consider. But, there are also many other things that you should consider for a great wedding photo booth experience.

Below we have listed a few of the dos and don’ts of wedding photo booths. Keep them in mind and plan your event accordingly for a wonderful experience. For a successful wedding photo booth, you should keep in mind that:

Do get weird but Don’t get too weird

It is allowed to get weird for a photo booth. Grab the most random props you can find and pose up the craziest face you can. You can even jump in front of the camera to give a crazy pose and make some magic. You can also jump on your friend’s shoulders. Another great thing would be to do the whip and nae nae and feel free to dab. Consider acting weird in the photo booth like a dessert. It is great in small doses.

The point is to have fun, let loose, and maybe like what you see. But you need to be careful as well. Brought a date to the wedding? Don’t get too handy. Just met the groom’s mom? Don’t dab on her in the booth. Is it hot on the dance floor? Keep your shirts unbuttoning to one or two notches. We are just saying there is a line in the sand, so be aware. Watch out carefully, and do not get too weird.

Do get creative but don’t get choose the wrong backdrop

There are a lot of catchy ideas that you can incorporate to boost your wedding photo booth. You can get a Selfie Stand with you and your new spouse’s initials and one of your wedding colors as the side strip.

You can also try custom effects or digital props. Or else a full-on set instead of just a backdrop would also be a great idea. The options are endless. You need to brainstorm a bit or seek advice from any relevant service providers.

Whether at a holiday party or a wedding, the photo booth is hard to miss. So it would be best if you make sure the backdrop and props not only compliment your event but are also going to produce some great photos.

The two poor backdrop choices that are often observed include see-through and vinyl. In a shiny vinyl backdrop, you take yourself away from a great picture. And see-through is just distracting, especially if people are walking behind it.

Do capture several shots but Don’t take over the photo booth

There is nothing wrong with jumping back into the photo booth for a second, third, fourth, heck, even tenth time. We support and encourage it. As the reception moves on, you make more friends, get a little looser, and you start to enjoy yourself more. So, grab your new friend and get back in there. You are a photo booth star.

Be mindful of everyone else at the wedding. Doing multiple shoots is cool and encouraged, but you should also give others a chance. If there are people in line, do not hog the booth for 10 minutes trying different props. Grab a drink, cut a rug, talk to your friends and then get back to the booth. It is going to be there still. Be a good dude in any way when it comes to the booth, and things will be great.

Do select the best location for the photo booth but Don’t select a high-traffic area.

You should select the right place to set up the photo booth because it will greatly impact your overall event. You cannot just stick in the corner of the room. Although it looks like a small curtained room, all the wires and cords need space.

Place the photo booth near the bar or, even better, the dance floor. These two spots are guaranteed to generate traffic to the photo booth.

We get it, and you want the room to flow. And making sure an event is welcoming, not claustrophobic, and encourages mingling is a fine line.

But, whether you rented a photo booth or made it yourself, there was a lot of time, effort, and money into making sure it was perfect. It means you want people to use it. So make sure you put it in the open and encourage your attendees to get in the booth.
