Another solution that works very well for removing stains and odors from your couch while also adding a protective layer is olive oil soap. Olive oil soap has been used for centuries to make everything from kitchen utensils to furniture more durable but it can also be used in combination with vinegar to clean your couch at home. Start out by mixing ¼ cup of white vinegar with one tablespoon of olive oil soap in a bowl. The next step is to grab a clean rag or sponge (or both) and just dab the olive oil soap mixture into the stain along with rubbing it in between your hands for several minutes.

Finally, if you really want to get that couch looking brand new you might consider purchasing some upholstery cleaning service. This is not only good because it keeps spills from soaking through to whatever material your couch is made out of but it can also add a little extra cushion if needed since old sofas tend to lose their cushion over time. If you decide to go this route I recommend buying 3–4 inches of thick foam that matches the size of your couch’s cushions themselves. Just cut the foam down and glue or staple them onto your couch’s original cushions then arrange the fabric over top of them. You may even want to consider buying new cushion covers, it all depends on how much you care about the look and feel of your home theater’s seating arrangements (if anything at all).
